How In-Home Support Can Work for You

You might need hands-on assistance with certain tasks, a prompt to keep your routine on track, or someone to work alongside you while you do more for yourself.

Our NDIS in-home support services are based on your needs, routines and preferences. We take the time to understand what your day looks like, where you need support and how you prefer that support to be provided.

    What Can We Help With?

Our in-home support can include practical assistance with a range of everyday activities, depending on your needs and NDIS plan.

    Personal Care and Daily Routines

Support with showering, dressing, grooming and other agreed personal routines, with respect for your privacy, dignity and preferences.

    Meal Preparation

Help with planning and preparing meals. We can prepare food for you or work alongside you if you want to become more involved in the kitchen.

    Cleaning and Household Tasks

Assistance with agreed household activities such as cleaning, laundry, tidying and keeping your home organised.

    Everyday Routines

Support with establishing and following routines around meals, personal care, household responsibilities and other parts of your day.

    Appointments and Errands

Support with shopping, appointments and everyday errands when these activities form part of your agreed support.

    Community and Social Activities

Support to get out, take part in activities you enjoy and stay connected with your community.

    NDIS Personal Care at Home

You may need regular hands-on assistance or support with only certain parts of your personal care routine.

Our NDIS personal care at home is based on what you need and how you prefer to be supported. We talk with you about the tasks you need help with, what you are comfortable doing independently and how you want support to work in your home.

Support That Fits Your Life and Builds Independence

Getting support at home doesn’t mean having everything done for you.

Depending on the task, your support worker can provide hands-on assistance or work alongside you while you build practical skills and routines.

This might mean taking part in meal preparation, managing parts of your household routine or becoming more involved in planning your weekly shopping.

To learn more about how tailored assistance helps you stay in control of your daily routine, read our guide on how NDIS in-home support builds independence at home.

    Staying Connected to Your Community

Depending on your goals, NDIS plan and agreed supports, we can support you to take part in social and community activities that are relevant to you, from visiting places you enjoy to participating in local activities.

    Finding the Right Support Worker

Having someone support you in your own home is personal, so feeling comfortable with your support worker matters.

Our support workers complete relevant screening and onboarding requirements before providing support. When arranging your services, we take the time to understand your needs and preferences so these can be considered when organising your support.

If your needs or circumstances change, talk to our team and we can review your current support arrangements with you.

Can the NDIS Fund In-Home Support?

The NDIS may fund disability-related assistance with everyday activities at home when the support meets NDIS funding criteria and is included in your plan.

Assistance with Daily Life is a Core Supports category and may include support with everyday tasks such as personal care, cooking and cleaning.

What you can use your funding for depends on your individual NDIS plan and disability-related support needs. If you’re unsure whether your funding can be used for in-home support, talk to our team about the assistance you’re looking for.

    Frequently Asked Questions

When getting started, we talk about your usual routine, the activities you need assistance with and when support is most useful. These details can then be considered when planning your agreed services.

No. You can contact us even if you’re still working out what assistance would be most useful. Tell us what you’re finding difficult in your everyday routine, and we can talk through the support you’re looking for and the next steps.

You don’t need assistance with every part of your day. Your support can focus on the agreed activities where you need help, such as a personal care routine, preparing meals or completing household tasks.

Talk to our team if your routine, circumstances or support needs change. We can review your current service arrangements with you and discuss what may need to be adjusted within your NDIS plan and available funding.

They can be involved if that’s what you want. You can tell us who you would like involved when we discuss and plan your support.

Yes. Needing in-home support does not necessarily mean you need to live alone. What matters is the disability-related assistance you need and whether the support is appropriate within your NDIS plan.

It helps to tell us which everyday activities you need assistance with, when you usually need support, your preferences and any relevant information about your NDIS plan. Don’t worry if you don’t have every detail ready. We can talk through the next steps with you.
